Character Information
Name: Vivienne Kensington
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Occupation: Law Student
Hair color/style: Brunette, short bob.
Eye color: Brown.
General appearance (a picture [or multiple pictures] is perfect for this. I prefer you to use OBC pictures, but anything will do):![](http://www.mtv.com/onair/legally_blonde/assets/images/flipbook/cast/kate_shindle/281x211.jpg)
Personality (Be thorough, keep it in canon, though you can and should elaborate and expand on it): Vivienne is always poised, confident, and graceful on the outside. Privately, she is deeply insecure. As much of a threat as she poses to Elle, she feels just as threatened in return. There is a heavy weight of expectations on her shoulders, from her family mostly, and her main priority has always been to be incredibly successful professionally. Her family has always been very clear with her about the person she should end up becoming, and the career track she should pursue, and put a very specific definition of success in her head. Thus, she comes off very serious, determined, and bitchy because of how career-minded she is. She doesn't socialize so much as she networks. While her actions may seem mean-spirited towards Elle, her initial catty behavior is just a defense mechanism. She is simply trying to scare Elle out of competing with her because Elle possesses many qualities she lacks, and she's worried that Warner might find he prefers Elle's company to her own. She is not a cruel person by any means though, and once Elle begins showing that she's serious about pursuing her legal career and shows that she does have skill in the area, Vivienne is much more willing to open up to her as a person. That's another reason that she didn't care for Elle at first. She was making a joke out of getting into Harvard Law, and was there clearly only to try and win back Warner, when getting into Harvard Law had been a goal of Vivienne's for quite some time. It was offensive to her to see someone make such a joke out of such an incredible opportunity.
History: Vivienne grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut, in a sprawling colonial mansion with plenty of property, and a beagle named King George, that she always called Georgie. Her family was very traditional, and of course, very wealthy. She spent her summers in the Hamptons (East Hampton, specifically) and her winters skiing in Vermont. Over the summer, she took frequent trips to Paris, at her parents' request to help her improve her fluency in French, which she can now speak perfectly. Ever since she was young her parents pressed into her brain that the name value of the school she attended, and the amount of prestige and power she achieved in her career were the two most important things she should focus on. As she grew older, their influence on her life just became stronger, and she worked harder to achieve success by her parents' standards, which eventually became her definition of success as well. She attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, with Warner. She and Warner didn't know each other very well in school though, and only had one class together. She wasn't particularly popular in high school because she focused mostly on her work, and didn't enjoy social outings, parties, or shopping like most of the girls she was surrounded by. While they snuck alcohol into their dorms, she studied and made near-perfect marks for her entire high school career. In addition, she was captain of the girls field hockey team, president of the Speech and Debate club, and was an active member in mock trial. It was there that she discovered that she enjoyed law, and decided that she would become a lawyer. Her parents approved of this career goal, and were very supportive. She graduated Phillips Academy as the valedictorian, which basically guaranteed her admission to the Ivy League college of her choice. She chose Harvard, and spent the next four years there. After Harvard, she and Warner were formally introduced at a dinner party when Warner went back home for the summer after finishing college. Vivienne's parents encouraged her to be with him because of his pedigree. It seemed like a strategic move from her point of view, so she went along with it, and the two wound up dating before starting at Harvard Law together in the fall.
Vivienne, born November 5th, 1985, is a typical Scorpio. She's very determined, powerful, and passionate. She is very careful to always present a calm exterior, even when she's actually very upset or worried about something. She's always dignified and reserved, while still being friendly and charming to those who she deems worthy of her charms. She's incredibly ambitious, and has no problem befriending others based upon their usefulness to her. She is very demanding and unforgiving of faults in others and herself, and expresses her disgust toward those she dislikes amongst her close friends. Though she appears withdrawn, those who know her well understand that being an observer is part of her character. She is a natural leader and was born with reasoning skills that made a career in law a natural choice for her.
RP Sample: At first glance, Vivienne knew she didn't like Elle. She came to Harvard like she belonged there, when everything about her seemed to prove the opposite. She couldn't believe that pink, pampered princess had managed to secure a spot in one of the most prestigious graduate programs in the country, and that she seemed determined to make a joke out of it. Her only objective at Harvard was to Warner back, from what Vivienne could gather, who was her boyfriend. So when called upon to provide counsel to Professor Callahan in regards to what to do about Elle being unprepared for class, her answer was a simple: "I'd throw her out." She rolled her eyes at the completely flabbergasted look on Elle's face. There were so many things she would've liked to have added to that statement, but she didn't want to look immature or catty. Elle had already lost the battle, since she was the one packing up her things and pouting her way out of the classroom, there no need to rub salt on the wound. There was plenty of time for that later.
