Character Information
Name: Paulette Bonafonte
Age: 31
Gender: F

Eye color: Green
General appearance:

Personality: Simply put, Paulette is the best friend everyone wishes they had. Supportive, encouraging, and honest, she will always drop whatever she's doing to help a friend in need -- and bring a bottle of nail varnish with her. (She is a firm believer that a manicure can help solve even the hardest problems.) Despite the assumptions of some that someone so kind and pretty couldn't possibly also be smart, Paulette is quick and sharp and uses this skill to the benefit of others by helping to cut to the heart of a problem and quickly come up with a possible solution. She has a kind, nurturing soul that is always willing to take even complete strangers under her wing, but her temper, once flared, can be what some could call resentful. Fair warning: messing with Ms. Bonafonte's friends could be hazardous to your health. However, despite her stunning face and body, she values herself far below what she's worth and is mostly unable to extend the kindness she shows to others towards herself.
History: Paulette's parents moved to Boston just two years before she was born, resulting in Paulette never quite aquiring any sort of Boston accent. Young Paulette was extremely close to her mother and, being the oldest of two, developed the nutruting instincts that would later become her trademark very early in life. While she has many happy memories of standing on a stepstool to reach the stove as she helped her mother prepare dinner or bake cookies, early memories of her father are hazier, except she very vividly remembers having to sneak past him in his la-z-boy, bathed in the glow of late night television while on her way to the kitchen for a midnight snack. While her relationship with her mother was easy and everything a mother-daughter relationship should be, her father was a different story. It wasn't until she was in junior high and he was laid off from his job that she saw very much of him at all... and a year later he left without saying so much as goodbye to her. She and her mother both took jobs at a salon down the block from their apartment (hers, of course, after school) to support the family. As far as school was concerned, Paulette was only slightly above average but made fast friends with many people from different social circles, and if not for the fact that all of her clothes were home-sewn or hand-me-downs from older cousins, she might have even been popular -- a particular incident from cheerleading tryouts on this very topic during her sophomore year still leaves her slightly shaken. Freshly graduated, Paulette went on to (community) college with the aim of one day becoming a Vet (their family dog was Paulette's constant companion and best friend from a very young age) but was unexpectedly derailed by her Mother's sudden and tragic death, which to this day she refuses to talk about except to those who are closest to her. It was during this time that she met Dewey, who at first seemed so sweet and supportive, but very quickly changed his tune a year or two later when Thom, the owner The Hair Affair died and left the salon to his favorite hairdresser and close friend: Paulette. One day she came home to find her things sitting in front of her trailer with a note attached telling her, in no uncertain terms, that he'd never loved her and he never wanted to see her again.
RP Sample:
Paulette stopped in her tracks, unable to take another step. Nonono... She must have just heard wrong...
"A what?! Brunette?!"
One look at the poor thing's face, however, told her no, that was exactly what she'd said.
"Oh honey, you can't change this!" Expression of distate and disbelief entact, she enviously took a few strands of the girl's hair between her fingers. "You're a genetic lotto win!" She knew the grass was always greener, but crap! She could almost feel her dark roots weeping just at the sight of all this cornsilk! No, absolutely not, she'd made up her mind, lowlights would not be happening here, not in a million years. No, she'd find out this girl's story and maybe she'd be able to convince her that she was about to ruin her life -- or at least her hair. You know, same thing.
"All right, something else is going on here..." She grabbed a stool and pulled it over next to the pretty blonde, just now noticing she was dressed in more pink than anyone she'd ever seen before in her life. She liked it, it was cheerful, and so did not match the almost-tearful face in front of her. She couldn't stand to see her so upset, and given the request she'd just made, it had to be something major.
"Paulette is listening. Spill."
